Trend Micro Incorporated and distributor Westcon Group have announced a pan-European partnership focussed exclusively around Westcon Group’s distribution of Cisco’s 5500 series Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA). Trend Micro provides content security for the ASA 5500 series family offering customised and comprehensive protection against a variety of security threats. Westcon will primarily capitalise on the extensive Cisco expertise within its Comstor division to distribute the Cisco ASA 5500 Series Content Security and Control Security Services Module (CSC-SSM) across Europe. The module provides universal threat prevention and content control at the network edge, delivering antivirus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, anti-phishing, URL blocking and filtering and content filtering services from Trend Micro. These content security offerings also complement the Cisco ASA 5500 Series’ other unified threat services including advanced Firewall, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and Virtual Private Network (VPN). “Trend Micro has not previously had the reach in Europe necessary to maximise the delivery of the ASA product line. We are delighted to work with Westcon Group and look forward to capitalising on their expertise in the networking arena and tools they provide to resellers in distributing the appliance”, says Anthony O’Mara, EMEA VP of Sales and Operations at Trend Micro. “Our partners are essential to our success globally and this global partnership with Westcon Group allows us to work more closely with the channel here in the UK as well and grow the market for gateway security products”, comments Pat Dunne, Business Unit Manager for Northern Europe at Trend Micro. Both Trend Micro and Westcon Group will focus outreach efforts on small and medium businesses (SMBs) and enterprises businesses through the ASPs, integrators and resellers that serve these markets across Europe.
